DVD2Zaurus

其實陸陸續續想了很久，一年多後終於能把dvd上的影片轉到zaurus上去看。
前幾天看到勇者米豆の家的教學，才有比較清楚的概念。主要都是參考這篇教學步步DVD轉WMV，所需用到的軟體全部都是免費的。
大部份可以在doom9網站中下載。
要注意的是，在我的操作過程中，其中的第3步，用dgindex轉出來的d2v檔，無法被第4步的VFAPI Reader Codec所解讀。這裡(第3步)我改用dvd2avi來產生d2v檔。dvd2avi的操作介面和設定
和dgindex一樣，所以看米豆的教學就可以了。
再來是第6步的教學，因為是要轉到zaurus上的，影片的格式就要是能讓zaurus接受的，所以第6步的地方也要參考另一個網站http://www.double.co.nz/zaurus/
的參數設定。其本上第6步就是要用windows media encoder把avi影片和聲音檔結合編碼。
最後我們會得到以wmv為副檔名的檔案。
需到放到zaurus上的檔案就是xxx.wmv、xxx.idx、xxx.sub，idx和sub是影片的字幕檔，必須要把檔名改成和影片一樣，然後放在同一目錄中，如果您不需要字幕，那就只要wmv檔就行了。
一部2小時的影片所佔的空間大約是400MB，再加上20MB左右的字幕。
影片的字幕用kino2可以顯示或不顯示。如果要變更字幕的語言或是字幕發生和影片不同步的情形時，就要用文字編輯器修改xxx.idx。
在idx檔中,找到langidx: 0這一行，0表示是第一個語言、1表示是第二個語言，以此類推。
找到time offset: 0這一行，把它用#字號標示起來。如果字幕提早了5秒，就再加一行delay: 00:00:05，最小可以設定到千分之一秒。
這樣就可以在zaurus上看電影了。

It looks like there has been some internal changes to the Senao/Origo WiFi Cards.

The latest batch we received come with lovely new packaging, but no longer work "Out of the box" with the Zaurus 5500/5600/C700/C750/C750/C860.

Someone has already figured out how to get them to work and posted instructions on what changes need to be made.

Below is a repeat of what you need to do on the standard Sharp based rom.

We have also included an updated file with values based on those shown below at the bottom of this post.
If you prefer, you could try simply copying the file over the existing file listed below instead of editing it etc. (Keep in mind that any other changes you made to the file would be lost)
Note, file permissions for this file are owner: root, group: root, rw,r,r (chmod 644).

Basicly, you need to add the details for the new card to a configuration file. Once you do that it works fine.

The following info. works for standard Sharp based ROMs.

Note: These changes may already have been added for C7xx/860 units purchased from ShirtPocket.

You will need to make some changes to a text file via terminal or console.

If you don't want to use vi, you may want to install another console based editor such as ee (Easy Editor). See HERE

1. Plug in your card.

2. Bring up terminal and log in as root (su).

3. Enter the command "cardctl ident"

4. From the output :
For Socket 0, copy the details of the first line after "product info :"
Probably the same for all new style cards. On the ones we tested, it says (including first and last quote):
"WLAN", "11Mbps_PC-Card_3.0", "ISL37100P", "Eval-RevA"

5. Backup the file "/etc/pcmcia/wlan-ng.conf" (Just in case) by entering the command cp /etc/pcmcia/wlan-ng.conf /etc/pcmcia/wlan-ng.conf.old

6. Edit file "/etc/pcmcia/wlan-ng.conf" At the end add the following

card "Origo" (or some other description, not important)
version "WLAN", "11Mbps_PC-Card_3.0", "ISL37100P", "Eval-RevA" (or ident for your card if different)
bind "prism2_cs"

7. Save and exit file and reboot your unit.

MAKE SURE YOUR WEB BROWSER DOES NOT SAVE IT AS A TEXT FILE (PUT A TXT EXTENSION ON THE END)
